Matthew Allison

Matthew graduated from Teesside University in 2021 with a degree in Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation before completing a Master’s in Physiotherapy in early 2023.

He began working in private practice as a Sports Rehabilitator, treating both athletes and non-athletes alike, before transitioning into occupational health. He currently operates in a role supporting the MSK Health of the staff of Durham County Council, but more importantly is expanding his MSK knowledge and expertise with us here at JP Physio!

His passion for physiotherapy was sparked by a personal experience with an ACL rupture that sidelined his football career. While football is now in the past, he continues to stay active through running and strength training.

With a strong interest in both sports-related injuries and persistent pain conditions, Matthew is dedicated to helping patients optimise their performance and recovery. He prioritises clear, honest, and evidence-informed advice, ensuring patients receive guidance that is both practical and relevant to their rehabilitation journey.
