Clinical Pilates
Strength, Control & Recovery
In comparison to regular Pilates, where the group are expected to be of a very similar standard, Clinical Pilates involves a one-to-one assessment with a Physiotherapist to determine your physical health state, highlighting areas that may need further attention and shaping of a Pilates routine to help you to achieve your goals.
Performed in small classes, our Clinical Pilates classes allows you to enjoy the benefits of social interaction (a well-known component that helps to promote overall well-being), whilst also allowing the Physiotherapist to keep a close eye on your performance and progression of your Pilates skill levels.

Postnatal Clinical Pilates
When can I start Postnatal Clinical Pilates?
This will depend on your individual recovery, birth experience, and how you are feeling physically.
As these small group sessions are taught by a Physiotherapist, you may be able to begin as soon as you feel capable and ready to start exercising. However, if you are looking to start before 6 weeks following a vaginal birth or before 12 weeks following a caesarean birth, you may be advised to have a Women’s Health Physiotherapy consultation before joining the group sessions.
All participants will complete an Initial Clinical Pilates Consultation prior to joining a class. This allows us to assess your recovery, discuss any concerns or symptoms, and ensure the programme is tailored appropriately to your individual needs.
Can I bring my baby?
Yes, babies are very welcome.
For the best experience for you and the group, these sessions tend to work best when babies are not yet on the move. If your baby is becoming mobile, you’re still welcome to attend, but it can be helpful to bring activities, toys, books, or anything else that may help keep them happily occupied during the session.
What should I bring for my baby?
We recommend bringing:
- A blanket or play mat
- Favourite toys or activities
- Any feeding supplies you may need
- Anything that helps your baby feel comfortable and settled
What if I would prefer to come on my own?
That’s absolutely fine too. Many mums choose to attend without their baby, and you’re very welcome to come by yourself if that feels easier.
Can I feed my baby during the class?
Of course. Your baby’s needs come first. You’re welcome to feed your baby on your mat or move to one of the chairs at the side of the room—whatever feels most comfortable for you and your baby.
Where do I leave my pram?
Prams can be parked just outside the studio room during the session.
